Meet Smudge, a very healthy looking
three month old pup. Smudge loves to
go outside and play with the sticks and
leaves. He is very curious and wants
to check out every thing that moves.
However, Smudge has a problem. He
has trouble navigating the steps from
the house to the yard. Smudge is
blind in one eye and has limited vision
in the other eye. Do to his vision
impairment, his depth perception is off.
Steps are a real challenge to him. But
with the help of his new family, he is
working on it.
Digna Hastings and her daughters,
Rachel and Karen, will tell you that his
poor vision doesn't hold him back one
bit. With a house full of pets already,
four cats and another dog, the trio
couldn't pass up a cute little guy like
Smudge.
Smudge came to find a loving home
when daughters Rachel and Karen
were looking, just looking, at the dogs
in our shelter. They spotted Smudge
and were very taken with the sweet
little guy. A couple days later they
talked mom in to coming over to the
shelter to see this very special puppy.
Mom agreed they needed to take this
little guy home and give him a good life.
Smudge may be different from other
dogs, but he doesn't know it.
